- Use your SSO login to open MyVassar. PINs and 999 ID numbers are no longer required to access information.

Cards and Roles Explained
The information you accessed in AskBanner as a Faculty member and Advisor held a lot of data. In MyVassar, this data has been carried over and displayed in “cards” instead of a list of links.
These cards may have interactive elements, like buttons, links, and scrolling features. Other cards may just display static information.
The cards that you can see in MyVassar depends on what role you have. For example, students cannot view the card for Faculty Grading because they do not have the appropriate role. You cannot view the card for student billing because you do not have the appropriate role.
You may have a blended role that gives you access to more cards. For example, if you are a Chair/Director and a Faculty member, you will have access to Departmental cards and Faculty cards. More commonly, you may be a Faculty and an Advisor. In this case, you will have access to Faculty cards and Advisor cards.
Your Homepage
The MyVassar home page shows your default set of cards, based on your role. Faculty and Advisors will see cards relevant to them as faculty and advisors, for example, the faculty grading card and the advisee card.
To find more cards, click 🔍VIEW ALL CARDS on the right side of the dashboard. This will show you all cards, including cards that are and are not on your homepage.

Customizing Your Home Page
You can adjust what you see on your home page, including removing cards and adding cards to your homepage, and reorder cards on your home page.
Removing a card from your homepage
- Click the flag button on the upper right corner of the card.
- The card will no longer appear on your homepage, but it will remain in the VIEW ALL CARDS page.
Adding a card to your homepage
- Click VIEW ALL CARDS on the right side of your homepage.
- Locate the card, and click the flag button on the upper right corner of the card.
- The card has now been added to your home page.
Reordering cards on your homepage
- Click on the top of the card and drag it in order of where you prefer.
Note on Locking Cards in Place
We have the ability to “lock” cards to your home page, so that something relevant to your role shows up at the top. For example, if Preregistration is open, the card for preregistration may be locked to the top of the student homepage. Or if Faculty Grading is open, that card may be locked to the top of the faculty homepage until Faculty Grading has ended.
New Dashboard Features
The dashboard at the top of MyVassar features announcements, a calendar, a notification bell, and your profile.
Announcements
We can send out time-based, role-based announcements to the Vassar community. For example, when Faculty Grading is open, we can send a reminder at the top of the screen.
Academic Calendar
The calendar shows upcoming academic deadlines and holidays. It does not sync to your Google calendar.
Notification Bell
The bell notifies you if there are any reminders you set with the My To-Do List Card, or any workflows needing your attention. A red circle next to the bell indicates a new notification.
Profile
Click on the profile to view your personal information, as well as the role to which you are assigned.

You also have some flexibility in how you enter grades. Either enter them directly on the grading webpage by clicking the student grades in the dropdowns, or by importing an excel spreadsheet.
This guide will show you how to enter grades directly on the grading webpage.

Clicking on the My Faculty Grading card will direct you to the Faculty Grading page.- Locate the course you want to submit grades for, and click the blue link.

- The Enter Grades panel will populate at the bottom of the page, showing the students in your course and the final grade drop down.
- Begin entering grades by clicking the drop down next to the final grade column, next to each corresponding student.
- Please note the letter grade order: A, A-, B+, B, B-, etc.

- Please note the letter grade order: A, A-, B+, B, B-, etc.
- Click Save at the bottom of the screen when you have finished to save your progress. Clicking Reset will undo any unsaved changes.
Please Note:
- Grades cannot be changed after they are rolled. If grades have rolled, a check mark will replace the final grade drop down.

Import Final Grades with an Excel Spreadsheet
Overview
You may prefer to track and enter grades on an excel spreadsheet, instead of entering them online in the webpage drop downs.
This guide will walk you through how to do that. First, you’ll navigate to the Faculty Grading Page by clicking into the My Faculty Grading card, and then click on the course you want to enter grades for. Second, you will export a template that auto-fills the necessary course information to import your class grades. Third, you will enter and save grades in this template file. Lastly, you will import the file on the same webpage you exported your grading template.
Find the Course to Enter Grades
- Navigate click on the My Faculty Grading card to go to the Faculty Grading Page.

- On the Faculty Grading page, select the course you want to enter grades for.
- The Enter Grades panel will populate at the bottom of the page, showing the students in your course and the final grade drop down.

Export the Class Grading Template
Now that you’ve selected the course for final grading, you will create an excel template to enter grades.
- On the upper right-hand side, click the gear icon, which will populate a drop down.
- On the drop down, click Export Template. This will generate an pop-up prompting you to export the template as an .xls file or an .xlsx file.

- Choose either file options (.xls or .xlsx ), and click Export. Your file has now downloaded a template with the grading information.

Entering Grades in Excel
- You can edit the excel document and delete certain columns, but there are 4 columns you must keep:
- Term Code (e.g., 202601)
- CRN (e.g, 10994)
- Student ID (999123456)
- Final Grade
- In the Final Grade column, enter the student’s grade (e.g., A, B-, C+).
- IMPORTANT: Make sure you save your changes before moving on to the next step. Otherwise, your unsaved grade entries will not import!

Last Steps! Importing Grades
Now you will import the excel file with the updated grade(s). On the grading webpage make sure you are still on the correct course. The course CRN in your excel spreadsheet should match the course CRN on the webpage. If they do not match, an error will prevent you from entering incorrect grades.
- Click the Gear icon again, and click Import.

- In the Import pop-up, click the Browse button to select your file.
- Click Upload.
- Click Continue.

- Preview the file, and click Continue again.
- Make sure your columns have mapped correctly, and click Continue again.
- The drop downs should match each asterisked *column. You will not be able to continue if they do not match.

- The drop downs should match each asterisked *column. You will not be able to continue if they do not match.
- When validating your data, confirm the student’s grade, then click Continue.
- When finishing your import, you will be notified that the import is complete without errors. Click Finish.
Success! You have now imported the student’s grade.
Notes:
- Grades cannot be changed after they are rolled. If grades have rolled, a check mark will replace the final grade drop down.
- You may import multiple grades for one course from an excel template.
- You do not need to update the grades all at once.
- Make sure the course CRN in your excel spreadsheet matches the course CRN on the webpage. If they do not match, an error will prevent you from entering incorrect grades.
- Make sure you save your changes in the excel spreadsheet before importing.
- For example: If you change your grade from B+ to A- in the excel spreadsheet, but you did not save your changes in the file, the grade will be imported as a B+, not an A-.
