SIS Readiness and Requirements Review – Final Report and Presentation
At the beginning of the Academic Year, Vassar undertook a project to conduct a “Readiness and Requirements” review of our Student Information System.
The project was steered by a committee, whose membership is made up of multiple faculty members and representatives from the major units across campus that depend most directly on the SIS.
This review was designed to include all processes related to the student records life cycle, from admittance to graduation. We did our best to solicit broad input from various units throughout the college regarding how processes related to that life cycle function today, how they will need to function going forward, and what considerations are most important to individuals in managing potential system or process changes that we may undertake in the future.
Our external partner in this process is Huron Consulting, and many of you may have engaged with them through one of the many small group stakeholder interviews, the faculty/employee/student feedback forums, the SIS Feedback Questionnaire and/or the SIS Readiness Survey. On behalf of the Steering Committee, I would like to extend our appreciation for your participation in this project. Huron has completed their report, and we would like to share a summary of their findings with you.
Here is a link to the summary report Huron SIS Readiness Assessment Summary Report.
We would also like to invite you to attend a campus forum where Huron will present the information in the summary. This session will be held over zoom on Wednesday, April 26th at 3:30pm. If you are interested in attending you can join the meeting via the link below.
