SEI Updates & Next Steps: February 2025
Website launch: We’ve launched a dedicated website at go.vassar.edu/sisproject to keep you informed about the SEI and archive all project communications for your convenience.
November workshop: A diverse group of SIS users, including faculty, administrators, staff, and Computing and Information Services (CIS), participated in a multi-day workshop with Ellucian, our Banner software provider and SIS implementation partner. The workshop focused on setting project goals, identifying current challenges, and envisioning desired future outcomes.
Information compilation: Ellucian has compiled the findings from the November strategic alignment workshop into several project documents, which have been reviewed with the Vassar project team.
Ongoing analysis: The Vassar implementation team is reviewing technical documents, analyzing our current SIS systems, and collaborating with Ellucian’s technical team to prepare for the project’s next phases.
SIS requirements gathering deep dive workshop: We are planning an in-depth workshop with Ellucian and Vassar SIS users to ensure the system will meet the evolving needs of our community. Attendees will explore and document every SIS system and related business practice. A complete workshop schedule and invitations will be shared soon.
Demo of future SIS features: Ellucian will provide a public demo of the new tools and features we’ll implement through the SIS Enhancement Initiative. While the exact date is still being determined, we’re currently anticipating this event will be held near the end of April. We’ll share more details as soon as possible!
Project timeline: After the workshop, we will prepare a detailed project timeline and provide an update with further information.
